Around 95% of cancers of the uterus develop from the glandular tissue in the endometrium. These cancers are called endometrial carcinomas or endometrioid adenocarcinomas. They are usually diagnosed early and are often cured.
The most common types of uterine cancer are:

  • papillary serous carcinoma
  • carcinosarcoma
  • clear-cell carcinoma

Unlike endometrial carcinomas, these subtypes do not seem to be related to estrogen. They also tend to develop more quickly.
