The most common signs and symptoms of lung cancer include:

  • Coughing for three weeks or longer
  • A change in a cough you have had for a long time
  • A chest infection that does not get better, or repeated respiratory infections
  • Unexplained wheezing and breathlessness
  • Coughing up blood
  • Pain in the chest or shoulders that doesn't go away
  • Hoarseness lasting three weeks or longer
  • Weight loss with no apparent reason
  • Feeling very tired (fatigue)
  • Changes at the ends of the fingers, with the fingers becoming larger or more rounded
